A Traditional Snack, Reimagined for Today’s Shelf
Banana chips have long held their place in the Indian snack landscape, familiar, traditional, and often seen through a nostalgic lens. As one of the dominant players in this category, Balaji Wafers wanted to refresh consumer perception while staying true to the product’s roots.
Our challenge was to craft a packaging system that balances the brand’s long-standing loyalty base with a contemporary appeal. Something that didn't just blend into the over-cluttered aisle but stood tall with confidence and charm.
Most local banana chip brands relied on muted, natural tones with minimal design, making them easy to overlook on the shelf. We saw this as an opportunity to break the monotony. By introducing a flavour-led design system with bold colours, playful illustrations, and unique icons for each variant, we gave Balaji’s banana chips a standout presence, appealing to both kids and adults.
